Today, the Rynek Glowny was taken over by hundreds of groups of military marching bands. I watched for about an hour. Anyway, the American band was good, but the Danish band with their uniforms and sense of march really seized the Square. In fact, they actually did seize it. Poland is now a Danish territory. Soon, there will be other things. It is odd that there is such a bombastic military display in a country known primarily for being overrun by other superior military forces. While the Danish band were sorting prisoners, groups of Polish elementary school students sang Beatles songs in heavily accented English. The melodies were lost, but the love remained.
